FSL (Friendly Soccer League) 5v5 Soccer Festival

FSL 5v5 Soccer Festival is a brand name league for boys and girls ages U7-U10. It consists of 6 consecutive Sunday’s play where games are played at one location.

Each Sunday all teams play 4 games in a row vs 4 different teams. Games are 20 minutes long. The total playing time for the 4 games is 80 min. All games are played in one location. There is a 10-minute break between each game.

In this festival league format, teams play games and compete, with no official referees and no official standing. Game day coaches from both teams in a friendly way maintain the game flow under the FSL 5v5 rules.

FSL 5v5 league format gives players the opportunity to play in a natural competitive environment without pressure from their coaches and parents to win or finish high. It provides accelerated player development in an enjoyable atmosphere, while allowing players to make mistakes and learn from them following the principles of the game. This festival format provides an opportunity for coaches to give their players more playing time where they will have a chance to learn soccer principles that support good decision making.

FSL 5v5 Soccer games allow players more touches on the ball and increases their creativity and confidence. The structure of FSL 5v5 helps players with dribbling, moves, ball control, vision of the playing field, and provides many scoring opportunities. 5v5 Soccer games provide over 300% more touches, shots, passing combinations, and one on one plays, compared to games played with a higher number of players. With fewer players on the field, players are more able to track teammates and opponents, providing for increased awareness of time and space.

FSL 5v5 festival is a great supplement to clubs and recreational teams that already compete in their regular leagues. The opportunity to play extra games on weekends enhances the development of their players. There is no conflict playing in FSL 5v5 and other leagues.
